As I’m prancing through Facebook I stumbled across another great FILM EVENT event at the Echo Park Film Center. On May 24th the 2nd Annual Women’s Film Institue Shorts Tour will be in town at the center.
The blurbbbbb…………
Out of 300 inspiring entries, 8 short films are selected to be premiered. The diverse selection of shorts at the tour celebrates the exceptional contributions of women in the world of cinema with a cross-section of socially-conscious films from around the world (India, Mexico, UK, USA, Canada). These films are a catalyst for connecting communities and fostering discussion through the power of independent filmmaking. The films serve as a quilt of stories meant to invoke and inspire audience-goers long after they leave the screening. Filmmakers Terrie Samundra and Chelo Alvarez-Stehle will also be in attendance for a Q&A after the screening. Admission: $5 Echo Park Film Center Members/Advance Online Sale, $8.00 General/Advance, $10 Door. Get tickets fast while they last! All you have to do is visit the website and click on the Brown Paper Tickets link, and enter code: echo park film center.
